Role of Neurogenesis and Oxidative Stress in Epilepsy (Study on Plasma Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor and Malondialdehyde Level)

چکیده

BACKGROUND: Epilepsy is a neurological disorder. Its incidence in Indonesia was 700,000–1,400,000 cases and 40–50% occurred children. About 30–40% of children had uncontrolled seizures. Biomarkers are needed to assess the prognostic value patients with epilepsy. Malondialdehyde (MDA) brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) one biomarkers related epilepsy see effect oxidative stress neuroplasticity. AIM: The objective study examine cut off plasma BDNF MDA level; compare levels controlled patients. METHODS: research usedanalytic observational cross-sectional approach. Number respondents 30 who came Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. Respondents were divided into two groups (controlled epilepsy). Blood examined for spectrophotometer ELISA. Data analyzed by t-test 95% confidence level. RESULTS: 11 found group 19 result showed that there significant differences between type therapy developmental disorders/other diseases status. There no status epilepsy), also CONCLUSION:

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a syndrome causing from a severe traumatic happening that leads to threatened death or injury. PTSD is associated with changes in limbic, hippocampal, and prefrontal cortical region function due to changes in synaptogenesis, dendritic modifying, and neurogenesis. Changes in neuron in PTSD patients result from pathophysiological disturbances in inflammato...

Assessment of oxidative stress parameters of brain-derived neurotrophic factor heterozygous mice in acute stress model

Objective(s): Exposing to stress may be associated with increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Therefore, high level of oxidative stress may eventually give rise to accumulation of oxidative damage and development of numerous neurodegenerative diseases. It has been presented that brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) supports neurons against various neurodegenerative conditio...
